ABOUT
Barnett Capital Management
I'm Chip. I oversee all aspects of investment strategy at Barnett Capital Management LLC. I work directly with clients to construct and manage portfolios tailored to meet their investment objectives. Shepherding your nest egg is something I take seriously, but I also enjoy explaining what my ideas are and what all of the options are that are available to you. Let's make growing your portfolio educational and a little fun!

Prior to founding BCM in 2006, I was a Director with Dearborn Partners in Chicago. In addition to individual and institutional client portfolio management responsibilities, I served on the firm's investment committee, and led a successful effort to restructure the firm's institutional model portfolio. This is where I first got serious about the power of low-cost index funds and the advantages of diversifying across major asset classes.

What seems like ancient history now, but was equally formative, was starting my career in 1997 with Stein Roe & Farnham, which would become a part of Bank of America in 2003. My experience there included co-managing a $700 million mutual fund and an incubator hedge fund, and managing individual and institutional client accounts.
After college, I spent a year in Moscow, Russia as a Manager of Finance and Administration for a dealership of General Motors' Opel subsidiary.

I earned a MBA from the University of Chicago and a BA from Marquette University. While attending Marquette, I studied abroad for a year at the London School of Economics.
